Product enhancements
When we receive your cylinders at Provence Hydraulique’s premises, an expertise will be carried out in order to identify the cause of the failure or breakage. This so-called contradictory expertise will allow us to comment on the work to be done but also the improvements that we can make or not. Then we can move on to the “maintenance” or “repair” phases. The technician has the possibility of relying on the design office to deepen the expertise and to determine the causes of the dysfunctions and/or damages.
In addition, this step will allow us to check the dimensions of the functional dimensions and to identify the supplies that make up the cylinder.
We can then propose to the customer improvements on the cylinders such as:
– Modifications to the sealing systems.
– Modification of the guiding surfaces.
– Change of design of some components.
Product modifications
On request, we can also study the possibility of modifying an existing equipment in order to adapt it to the operation to which it will be assigned.
For example :
• The addition of seals
• Change from a single-acting to a double-acting cylinder.
Let’s take some concrete cases:
• The oxidation of the rod causes wear to the seals ensuring the tightness of the cylinders. Before being assembled, the rod undergoes a surface treatment to ensure
a good anti-corrosion resistance. However, the cylinders are not designed to work in very aggressive or corrosive environments so for a longer life of the cylinder, the stainless steel range is strongly recommended. So we will talk about maintenance in order to improve its life span from 5 to 10 years.
• An impact on the rod causes wear and/or breakage of the seals ensuring the cylinder’s tightness. A damaged cylinder on the rod causes friction with the seals and alters the seal. The impact points on the rod are filled with welding points, then the rod is polished, chromed and polished a second time. This allows us to return the cylinder as soon as possible.
